What does Idler Wheel on Polaris 280 do?
The Idler Wheel assists the cleaner’s ability to maneuver around the surface of your pool and helps it climb steep slopes. It does this by transmitting rotation from one side of the drive shaft to another, in applications where it is undesirable to connect them directly. An example of this would be the crankshaft-to-camshaft gear train of an automobile.
This part is white and smaller than the other wheels that are needed for this cleaner. It was designed that way to fit in between the bigger wheels on one side of the pressure cleaner. It does use the same parts however as the other wheels like the wheel lock screws and ball bearings. This makes it easy to install or replace.
